David Maslanka Concerto for Saxophone Quartet and Wind Ensemble

Masato Kumoi is one of the most celebrated concert saxophonists today. He is a professor of saxophone at Kunitachi College of Music, and he leads the Masato Kumoi Saxophone Quartet, one of Japan's most revered saxophone ensembles. As a champion of David Maslanka's music (David Maslanka was a renowned American composer who lived in Missoula MT),  Mr. Kumoi recorded most of the saxophone music written by the composer. MSU School of Music is honored to host Mr. Kumoi for a week of residency including peforming David Maslanka's Concerto for Saxophone Quartet and Wind Ensemble with MSU Wind Symphony conducted by Dr. Nathan Stark along with Dr. Wonki Lee, Dr. Yoko Kusaka, and Mr. Jesse Dochnahl as soloists.
